El Abuelito  (The Grandfather)
Music and lyrics by Cesar Villalobos

                              “Grandfather, tell me your story…”

“My grandfather would tell wonderful stories of Inti and all the great Inca gods at night, as we sat around the fire. As the fire died down, he’d cover me with his warm poncho. I’d wake up in my own bed the next morning, still covered with the poncho.”

Cesar composed this song when his Grandfather Clemente was 113 years old. He lived to be 116, and left a beautiful legacy, sowing many seeds that are now reaping and following his teachings. In 2006 Inca Son performed the song in concert at the Sanders Theatre, Harvard University.
